Birchbox, November 2013...

I am loving Birchbox just now, that's 4 months in a row that there boxes have been FANTASTIC that have included some big brand names!
In this months box I received 7 items, 5 items that are normal for the box, a lifestyle extra and a goodie from birchbox :)!
the first thing was from Matriskin, its a 15ml jar sample of their high Performance Cream. I have yet to try this out but I will maybe do a blog post on it once I have tried it. It doesn't tell you the full size of the product but it retails from £80.50!!
Next I got a Weleda Replenishing Oat Shampoo. I'm guessing that this is also a sample as it is only 18ml and the full size costs £8.95.
There was a Chella Highlighter Pencil in the colour Ivory Lace, its full size i'm guessing and it is £15.95. I really like this pencil, reminds me of my Benefit High Brow pencil :)!
I was very delighted to see yet another Laure Mercier product :)!! This time I got the Long Las Mascara, not full size but its a perfect size for my on the go travel bag and it is a great mascara! the full size retails for £18.50
Then unfortunately there was another perfume sample :( Am I the only one that doesn't like perfume samples?! I got sent the English Laundry, Signature for Her Eau De Parfum, and it retails from £16.
The Lifestyle Extra this month was a selection of Tea's! there was an elderberry & Echinacea flavour, an earl grey flavour and a three cinnamon flavour. Unfortunately I only like normal tasting tea lol, but my mum loves these so she was quite happy to have them :).
And the goodie that birchbox included was a Birchbox pencil sharpener, it came in a pretty little black organza pouch. It is a double sided sharpener too so you can sharper your larger sized pancils as well as your normal sized ones :).

All in all I was very happy with birchbox again this month, I am looking forward to seeing what is in next months box :)
please feel free to leave a comment and let me know if you got anything different in your November Birchbox :) also please follow!!

Miss GlossyBox November/December 2013...

So after 2 months of disappointing Glossyboxes I decided I was going to try out the Miss Glossybox that is available every 2 months for £7 plus p+p so it works out around £10 for every 2 months.

I got my box in 2 days ago and this is me just getting round to opening it, and if I'm honest I was pleasantly surprised with what was inside.
In side there was a 50ml can of So...?Sinful body spray. It actually smells quite nice, its a very girlie smell and its an ideal size to put in my handbag for when I'm out and about.
There was a Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 shadow/eyeliner pencil in a bronzy shade. will be very nice to add to a neutral smoky eye look.
Next is another perfume sample (Hate Perfume Samples!!!) that my daughter will do doubt have because I don't like the perfume. I got a sample of Lacoste 'Touch of Pink'
Then there was Little Mix nail wraps inspired by Jesy from Little Mix, these are actually pretty cool looking. Jesy says these nail wraps are inspired by art pop, comic book and graffiti and she has done a great job! These would look great for most occasions and I think you would have people commenting on them everywhere you went :)!

And last but not least there was a full sized bottle of Clear Start from Dermalogica, it is a Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash. My skin tends to be breaking out quite a lot just now so I'm looking forward to trying this.

All in all I think I actually prefer this box to the last 2 glossyboxes I have received.

leave me a comment and ket me know what you think if this Miss Glossybox :)

My advice on Autumn/Winter skin care...

Now that it is very safe to say that the lovely summer weather has left us for another year, the colder, damp and dark nights start to creep in way to quickly. You wrap up warm, the heating is on, fires are burning and a nice soak in a hot bath after being outside is bliss. But whilst we are looking after ourselves making sure we stay nice and warm with being cosy in our houses and being wrapped up in our big warm winter jackets when out and about, what steps are you taking to look after your skin?  Most people will just continue to use their every day routine they have used all through the summer but sometimes more often than not this usually isn’t enough to keep your skin in a perfect condition.  There are some easy steps you can follow to ensure you have gorgeous hydrated, glowing skin this autumn and winter.

1 – Cleansing – Firstly you should always cleanse your face twice daily throughout the year not just in the colder months, you need to cleanse to get rid off all the dirt and make up your skin can collect throughout the day and at night when you are sleeping. To me your cleanser for the colder months should be a soap free cleansing milk or balm. These don’t take as much moisture out of your skin as say a foaming or gel cleanser and they are a little gentler on your skin. Also if you massage your cleanser into your skin using circular movements for 2mins you will start to bring more blood and oxygen to the surface of your skin making it appear instantly brighter and a bit healthier. Always make sure you dry your skin completely by patting your skin with a clean dry towel. Please don’t rub it could damage your skin plus it can hurt too.
2- Facial Scrub – I find that scrubs with finer grains in them work better on skin than ones with slightly larger grains in them. A facial scrub should ideally only be used once a week and after cleansing. Scrubs are good for helping remove dead skin cells and giving your skin back its natural glow but using them to much or scrubbing them to hard into your face can damage your skin and leave it red and sore to the touch. Rub the scrub in circular motions into your face using your 2 ring fingers as they are the most gentle and won’t apply too much pressure.
3 – Add a serum to your skincare if you don’t already use one. This will add an extra layer of hydration to your skin and it will also help build up a protective layer over your skin protecting it from going in from the cold outdoor weather and into the warm indoor heat and vice versa. I have been using one I got in one of my subscription beauty boxes. It’s a radiance serum containing aloe vera & manuka honey by the company Pukka. It works really well with my oily skin and with it being 97.5% organic it is pretty healthy for my skin too.
4 – Moisturising- Moisturising should be done twice daily after cleansing and serum being applied. Your day time moisturiser should be lighter than your night time cream and it should always contain an SPF, You might think the sun’s harmful UV rays aren’t around any-more because it has got cold but they are, so please keep on protecting your skin with an SPF. Your night time moisturiser can be a bit heavier than your day time one so you can properly rehydrate your skin whilst you’re sleeping. You can quite often get a day and night moisturiser set to suit all skin types. Also if you are like me and you don’t feel very comfortable without a little colour to your face through the day you can replace your day time moisturiser for a tinted one or even a beauty balm (bb cream). Most tinted moisturisers and beauty balms contain an SPF.
5 – Lip Scrubs – The cold weather is terrible for bringing out dry, chapped and sore lips, but I prevent this by using a lip scrub every 2nd day. You can either buy one from a shop – I love the peppermint lip scrub from Lush – or you could make a very simple one at home in 2 minutes which is what I do if I run out of my usual one. All you have to do is get a small jar with a lid to keep your scrub in firstly. Then get some solid honey (natural) and granulated sugar. Mix one teaspoon of honey with 2 and half / 3 teaspoons of sugar until a paste is made, place what you have mixed up into your jar and use on your lips as and when you want/need to. Plus you don’t have to worry about any nasty stuff getting into your mouth as it is completely natural, homemade and it tastes pretty yummy as well. I recommend keeping it in a cool dark place and throwing what is left away after one week and make a fresh batch.
6 – Lip Balm – I love lip balms, I own too many of them lol! Lip balms are a good way of keeping your lips hydrated and protected from drying out in the warm and cold air. At night time before I head to my bed I tend to use the Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E and peppermint on my lips. It keeps them hydrated through the night. Throughout the day time I have been finding myself using the Maybelline baby lips more than I normally would, they are so moisturising and the cherry me, pink punch and the peach kiss also have a nice little hint of colour too which means I can get away without putting lippy on all the time.

Also drinking around 8 glasses of water per day and eating foods with those essential fatty acids omega 3,6 and 9 can work wonders for your skin by keeping it hydrated and protected from within. These can be found in foods such as fish, walnuts, almonds, seeds, and certain oils. I take supplements rather than eat fish as I don't like the taste of seafood.

Treat yourself..
Being a busy mum to my constantly on the move 4year old, I look forward to taking one night out of my week once I have my daughter tucked up and sleeping in bed to enjoy a complete mummy pamper night starting off with a relaxing hot bath with a lovely smelling bath bomb from Lush. Face masks are also very relaxing. I buy face masks from the Montagne Jeunesse range, they’re available in shops like boots, superdrug, savers, the supermarkets and they usually only cost 99p per mask (very inexpensive for 20 minutes of relaxation and they’re great for your skin too). Then I like nothing more than to get snuggled up on the couch with a large mug of hot chocolate topped with cream in my onesie/pjs and catch up on my soaps I have missed!

I hope all you busy mummies find this skin care blog useful in helping you get perfectly hydrated and naturally glowing skin over these cold wintery months.

My Quick Everyday Autumn/Winter Eye Make-Up look..

Heres my every day eye make up look and the products I use :), hope you like!

First off, i always prime my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion, it keeps your eye shadow in place all day long.
Colours Used
I have been using some of my new MAC & Urban Decay colours i got last week every day since i got them!

First I use MAC's Phloof! all over my eyelid, this gives you a nice natural base colour. I have been using the a Real Techniques Shading brush.

On the outer corners of my eye's and through the crease i have been using MAC's Satin Taupe. This and Phloof! go great together. I just use the same brush as before for this.
I then take a MAC 217 brush and blend the edges out slightly.

Then on top of the Satin Taupe just through the crease using a MAC 217 brush i blended in a little Urban Decay Last Call from the Ammo Palette.

I take a MAC 266 angled brush & use some MAC Carbon along my top lash line.

For my lashes I am loving Maybeline The Falsies Flared mascara! It is amazing!!

The finished look.

Please let me know what you think,

Can't Say No To BareMinerals...

So last week when i wasn't too well i decided to do a little online 'window' shopping, was intending on just having a look to see what i could put on my xmas list to give to my hubby! But for me that never seems to happen, even today i came on my laptop to solely write some blog post's and i have already purchases the Latest In Beauty's new box The Glamour Edit! I honestly can't stop myself! I will write a blog post about that box once it gets here :D! Back to what i came on to write about, as i said the other day i was looking online for some xmas present list ideas and whilst i was looking on the QVCuk website i seen a really nice BareMinerals set for £38.28. It comes with 3 Marvelous Moxie lipglosses, 3 mini ready blushers, a ready blush brush and a cute pale pink make up bag :)!

There is a lipgloss to match each blush which i thought was fantastic, trying to sometimes find blush & lip colours that go together can be a bit of a pain at times! The 3 Marvelous Mocie colours you get are Trail Blazer (gold beige) Hot Shot (candy pink) & Rebel (mauve pink). The 3 Mini Ready Blush colours you get are The Turn On (candy pink) The One (nude pink) and The Thrill (vibrent coral).

I put Trail Blazer gloss & The Thrill bush together

I then put Rebel gloss and The One blush together

And finally i put Hot Shot gloss and The Turn On blush together

The lipglosses are 4.5ml each which is full size and the blushers are mini sized (3g) but there are a good size for being 'mini' lol! They are also the perfect size to pop into your make up bag for when you are out and about :)!
Please leave a comment telling me which set out of the 3 lipglosses and blushers are your favourite and why :).
Please don't forget to follow my blog, and if there is any future blogs you want me to write please let me know :)!
